Recognizing Early Potential-We All Have Some!

Today on the TODAY SHOW, November 12, 2007, Meredith Vieira mentioned that, "I played Jack’s very well," as a child.  This may sound silly but from the point of view of THE ENCHANTED SELF Positive Psychology, this is very important information.  Within this kind of self knowledge lies not only old information about oneself, both pleasant memories to treasure and of new discoveries of one’s regenerative potential.

For example, in the case of Meredith Vieira’s skills at playing jacks, what does that hold for her now?  Perhaps information that she is blessed with good eye-hand skills.  Perhaps information that she enjoys competitive play, either with herself or with others.  Perhaps the self knowledge that she can relax and feel stimulated at the same time with simple activities.  Whatever information she pulls from the activity, and only she will know what rings true, lies a blue print for now and into the future about playing, relaxing, competiting, feeling alive and revitalized.

Could you ever believe that a simple game of Jack’s could hold so much information?
